Ashihara Karate Doryoku Dojo has been offering special Karate classes for men and women on a weekly basis at various locations in Singapore. Classes are taught by experienced instructors with over 20 years experience, assisted by many capable black belts.
In the classes at Ashihara Karate, you will learn basic punches, kicks, and blocks. You will apply them in combinations, working with partners in controlled fighting situations. You will learn specific self-defence techniques - how to throw someone who grabs from behind, how to counter various frontal attacks.
Sabaki is a unique method of meeting an attack by combining defence and offence into one. Sabaki uses one of four fundamental circular movements in response to an attacker's thrust. These movements carry the defender to the outside- left or right of an attack, moving either slightly forward or backward.
Doryoku teaches karate based on Sabaki techniques (where movements are circular and swift). These techniques help move the practitioner to a favorable position for counter-attack and more importantly, it is effective for a smaller-built person against bigger sized opponents.
